The Daily Orange
I worked as The Daily Orange’s presentation director from April 2018 to May 2019, where I managed a team of four print designers and oversaw the general visual direction of the paper. Before becoming presentation director, I worked as a design editor for three semesters designing page layouts and creating graphics for online two nights a week. On February 9, 2019, several Syracuse University students were assaulted at their apartment. Their statements differed from those given by the university’s Department of Public Safety, Syracuse City Police and the Student Association. This photo illustration was created in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief and News Editor to highlight these discrepancies as the student body waited for the administration’s response.

Following SU’s football team’s journey to the Camping World Bowl in December 2018, The Daily Orange produced a “bowl guide” that was brought by beat writers down to Orlando, FL for distribution at tailgates and in the stadium. This was a project worked on remotely between myself, our Illustration Editor, the sports staff and our management team.

An extra four-page “tab” was also created as a souvenir should the football team have won. They were distributed to the players and their families and were shown on live TV when the Orange beat West Virginia.
